President Donald Trump was not expected to attend the event. He has not been to the dinner since 2015, and never attended during his presidency.

From The White Lotus to Breaking Bad, a mix of actors, entertainers, and other notable figures gathered for the White House Correspondents' Dinner — an event President Donald Trump and his administration have consistently skipped.

The annual dinner, held at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C., raises funds to support journalists covering the presidency and related events. It's a celebrated inside-the-Beltway tradition known for playful political jabs and a star-studded guest list featuring celebrities, media executives, and influential personalities.

Trump, who last attended in 2015, was not expected this year either. Instead, he and former First Lady Melania Trump attended the funeral of Pope Francis in Rome on April 26. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt had previously confirmed she would not attend the dinner.

In a departure from tradition, no comedian headlined the evening. The White House Correspondents' Association dropped Amber Ruffin from the program in March after staffers raised concerns about her previous criticisms of the Trump administration. Instead, Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost, known for co-anchoring the "Weekend Update" segment, headlined the 2024 event.

“At this consequential moment for journalism, I want to ensure the focus is not on the politics of division but on celebrating our colleagues’ outstanding work and supporting the next generation of journalists,” association President Eugene Daniels said in a March note to the press.

Here’s what’s happening at the 2025 White House Correspondents’ Dinner:

Jason Isaacs, Dean Norris and more stars walk the red carpet
The red carpet brought out a variety of stars, including Jason Isaacs, who appeared in Season 3 of The White Lotus; Dean Norris, best known as DEA agent Hank Schrader from Breaking Bad; and Tim Daly, who played J.T. Dolan on The Sopranos.

Lynda Carter, beloved for her iconic role as Wonder Woman in the 1970s TV series, also made an appearance. Actress Alex Borstein, known for her work on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Family Guy, and Shark Tank personality Kevin O'Leary were among the other notable names at the event.

Would you like a slightly punchier or more casual version too, depending on where you plan to use this?
